A belt scale measures material while it is being conveyed, without interrupting the flow.
A belt scale is a weighing bridge built into the frame of a belt conveyor. The load carrier is a steel structure holding the strain-gauge load cells and a belt speed sensor — so fitting one does not require major structural changes to an existing conveyor.
The indicator shows instantaneous load on the belt, the quantity dosed, belt speed, instantaneous throughput and the number of measured units conveyed.
The accuracy of a belt scale depends on the conveyor as much as on the scale. Reaching the stated accuracy class requires:
