Crane and hanging scales are used in almost every industry where a load is suspended from a crane, hoist or similar lifting gear during handling. The weighing then happens while the material is being moved — no separate handling step and no waiting for the operator.
A hanging scale works in conditions catalogue scales do not enjoy: shock on lifting, dust, radiant heat from melt, the occasional knock against the load. So we design the whole assembly — load carrier, cell and electronics — and adapt it to the specific crane and the environment it will hang in.
The scale can be supplied as a legal-for-trade instrument, verifiable for use in trade, or as a process instrument where the reading only drives control and record-keeping inside the plant.
Maximum load is not the deciding factor on its own. What matters is how the load hangs, whether it moves during weighing, how hot and dusty the surroundings are, and whether the value only needs showing to the operator or passing to a higher-level system as well.
