Special weighing applications

When a weighing task fits no category, what remains is to design it. We start by asking about the environment and how the load is introduced, not about the capacity required — because that is usually where special applications are decided.

Typical tasks handled this way:

• Weighing large-capacity hoppers and silos. The vessel hangs from or rests on cells that must tolerate thermal movement of the structure and loads from connected pipework.
• Weighing loads carried by helicopter. The scale has to be light, robust and readable where nobody can walk up to the display.
• Weighing built into an existing machine that is already installed and cannot be rebuilt.

What we need from you

A description of the situation is enough: what is weighed, how it reaches the scale, in what environment, and what should happen to the value. Designing it is our job — including telling you when an ordinary scale from one of the categories above will do the work.
